1. 2020

   The diagnosis

   In 2020, Kimmer was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer that spread through his body and affected multiple organs. Treatment became the center of life. The future narrowed. Time stopped behaving like an assumption.

2. 2022

   The return

   After treatment, the cancer returned in 2022. Doctors told him his future was deeply uncertain. He was also told he may never be able to have children. Some sentences land so hard they rearrange the rest of a man's life.

3. Work

   Discipline and rebuilding

   While recovering, he climbed Mount St. Helens alone during a winter storm — not for spectacle, but to prove he could still move forward. Later he helped rebuild his brother's damaged home by hand, returning to family, responsibility, and steady work.

4. Ocean

   The crossing

   He sailed across the Atlantic solo without modern navigation equipment. The crossing reinforced patience, preparation, and staying oriented when conditions change — the same habits that matter in mortgage work.

5. Today

   Mortgage guidance

   Kimmer serves borrowers as a mortgage loan officer with NEXA Lending. Mortgage Dungeon exists to make education and tools easier to use before anyone feels pressured into a product that does not fit.
